Hyderabad, July 31 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas on Thursday directed the district authorities to take immediate steps to prevent the outbreak of seasonal diseases in view of monsoon.
Addressing the District Collectors and District Medical & Health Officers (DMOH) through video-conference from the State Secretariat here, the minister asked them to reserve the stocks of medicines and other equipment to face the outbreak of seasonal and communicable diseases. He directed the officials to ensure the presence of adequate number of doctors and para-medical staff in all public hospitals, Primary Health Centres and dispensaries. He also asked the officials to launch an awareness campaign to prevent the outbreak and spread of diseases.
The minister said that the local authorities should prepare a checklist for their areas to face any exigencies. Special focus should be paid to the vulnerable areas and groups who are prone to seasonal and communicable diseases, he said.
The video-conference was also attended by Principal Secretary (Health) L V Subrahmaniam and other senior officials.
