Hyderabad, July 31 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has finalized two models of news cars to be inducted into the police force. He took the decision during a review meeting with the senior police officials at the State Secretariat here on Thursday.
Earlier, Director General of Police Anurag Sharma, along with his team, made a presentation on Branding and Image Building Vehicles for Police Department. Various designs of vehicles proposed to be procured by the department were shown to the Chief Minister. After eliciting views of all those present in the meeting the Chief Minister selected two models of cars – one meant for Law and order patrolling and another for Traffic and Highway patrolling. The blue model with police logo is for law and order and the other is for highway patrolling.
The law and order car and bike design was done by one Gopi Fakeera and another done by Ibrand India, a design company. This work was executed through Administrative Staff College of India. The vehicles will be fitted with GPS and Tablet PC besides barlights, siren and PA system.
Advisors to CM Ramana Chary and Papa Rao and Principal Secretary to CM S Narsing Rao were present in the meeting.
It may be mentioned that the Telangana Government has recently sanctioned Rs 271.97 crore for purchase of 3,883 new vehicles for Hyderabad and Cyberabad police equipped with facilities like 4-G, GPS, laptops and supporting staff. It was done as a part of modernisation of police force on the lines of New York and London police.
