Hyderabad, June 23 : Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Etela Rajender on Monday held a meeting with Commissioner of Civil Supplies C Parthasarathy and Region Heads of Telangana of all the three Oil Companies viz. IOC, BPC and HPC in connection with need to augmenting availability and release of petroleum products on war footing to all the Telangana districts so that there will not be any shortage of product for consumption by the consumers.
Etela also informed about the letter written by the Government to the General Managers, Railways to allow free movement of rakes carrying petroleum products to Warangal, Ramagundam and Cherlapalli points.
The Minister made it very clear that the Oil Companies should make all necessary arrangements to make available the petroleum products from the three depots in the State. He advised the representatives of the Oil Companies to take a few measures on urgent basis. The Oil Companies shall take action to have two shifts for loading of petroleum products into the trucks at Ramagundam IOC Depot immediately and adjustment of the product between Oil Companies should be done from Warangal , Suryapet and Ramagundam (HPC) to see that full requirements are met immediately. He exhorted that this is necessary to reduce transportation to long distance districts.
Etela also emphasized the need for a long term action plan for Telangana State by going for more Oil depots in the State and that the Oil Companies should take necessary action and if any assistance is required in setting up these depots the State Government would provide the necessary support.
The representatives of Oil Companies have also brought to the notice of the Minister about their existing proposals for expansion like establishment of a new IOC depot near Hyderabad by connecting to Paradeep Port by underground pipeline, expansion and upgradation of existing depots like Cherelapalli, Warangal etc.
The Minister asked the Oil Companies to make a long term plan for Telangana. INN
