Hyderabad, June 22 : Andhra Pradesh Transport Minister S Raghava Rao on Sunday informed that the State Government was planning to construct a four-lane road between Kakinada and Chennai.
Raghava Rao, who assumed charge in the State Secretariat here on Sunday, said that the proposed road would boost economic activity in the region. He said focus would be laid on improvement of road connectivity between different cities and towns of Andhra Pradesh. He said better road connectivity would attract investors to the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.
The minister said that instead of offering sops to the private operators, the TDP Government would promote and strengthen public transport in the State. He said the goods transport has a huge potential for growth in the State. Further, by ensuring better road connectivity, the coastline of Andhra Pradesh could be promoted as the tourist destination.
