Talasani asks GHMC to complete pending works

Hyderabad, June 21 : Sanathanagar TDP MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav accused the GHMC officials of adopting a negligent attitude towards providing basic civic amenities to the people living in GHMC limits.

Speaking in the GHMC general body meeting here on Saturday, Talasani said that despite allocation of nearly Rs 300 crore for works under SC, ST Sub-Plan, only Rs 10 crore were sanctioned. Further, he said tenders were called for works worth only Rs 3 crore. He demanded that the GHMC furnish ward-wise information on the implementation of the scheme.

Talasani also slammed GHMC officials for not furnishing information related to implementation of different projects in the city. He said earlier Rs 800 crore worth foreign aid was returned due to non-utilisation. He said that the officials should focus on early completion of all pending projects.

The TDP MLA said that only five months were left for the completion of term of present council. Therefore, all works should be taken up on war footing. He said proper implementation of projects could change the look and feel of entire Hyderabad city. He asked the officials to ensure proper arrangements for the ensuing Ramzan and Bonalu festivals. He also demanded that Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain take stern action against the negligent officials.  INN
