Hyderabad, June 20 : Elaborate arrangements are being made for the General Body meeting of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to be held on Saturday.
The meeting, to be chaired by Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain, will be the first after the formation of Telangana and new government in the State. The GHMC General Body will have lot of new faces as the ex-officio members. Lok Sabha MPs Bandaru Dattatreyya (Secunderabad) and Malla Reddy (Malkajgiri) will be the two new faces as ex-officio members. Further, the BJP will have a strong voice with newly elected MLAs participating in the meeting as ex-officio members. Besides, G Kishan Reddy (Amberpet), the newly elected MLAs Dr K Lakshman (Musheerabad), Chintala Rama Chandra Reddy (Khairtabad) and NVSS Prabhakar (Uppal) are likely to attend the meeting.
Another major voice will be of Telugu Desam Party. TDP MLAs Talasani Srinivas Yadav (Sanathnagar), G Sayanna (Secunderabad Cantonment), KP Vivekananda (Qutbullapur), M Krishna Rao (Kukatpally), R Krishnaiah (LB Nagar), Teegala Krishna Reddy (Maheshwaram), T Prakash Goud (Rajendra Nagar) and Arekapudi Gandhi (Serilingampally) too are likely to attend the meeting as ex-officio members. The TRS MLAs Gudem Maipal Reddy (Patencheru), C. Kanaka Reddy (Malkajgiri) and Excise Minister T Padma Rao (Secunderabad) are the other new ex-officio members of GHMC.
Two leaders – T Raja Singh (BJP – Goshamahal) and former Deputy Mayor Jaffer Hussain will be attending the Saturday’s meeting as ex-officio members as they got elected as MLAs from Goshamahal and Nampally Assembly segments.
The GHMC General Body is likely to discuss the arrangements for Ramzan and Bonalu festivals besides debating the preparations for monsoon. INN
