Hyderabad, June 20 : Andhra Pradesh NRI Affairs Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy on Friday informed that the State Government has sought help from the Ministry of External Affairs in collecting statistics related to Telugus living in foreign countries.
Speaking to media persons at the State Secretariat here, Raghunath Reddy said that MEA’s help has been sought to compile the date related to Telugu speaking people, particularly those hailing from Seemandhra region. He said that the statistics would help the government in extending immediate help to them during emergencies like the situation that emerged in Iraq. He said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu wants to come out with a comprehensive policy for Telugu NRIs and migrants working in places like Africa and Gulf.
The minister said that the State Government would take all steps to ensure safe return of Andhraites from violence-hit Iraq. INN
