Hyderabad, June 19 : The Standing Committee of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation under the chairmanship of Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain has unanimously resolved to conduct further Standing Committee meetings at 3 PM on every Thursday till the completion of their tenure.
An introductory meeting of the newly elected Standing Committee Members was held on Thursday in the Standing Committee Hall of GHMC Head Office. The Committee has unanimously approved the proposal for construction of minor bridge across nala at Fateh nagar pipe line road in Ward No. 20, GHMC Kukatpally Circle with an estimated cost of Rs. 350 lakh. The Committee has also passed a resolution for the construction of box drain on Bahadurpura nala with an estimated cost of Rs. 74 lakhs.
Majid Hussain has requested the members to give proposals for the maintenance of approaches to the religious places for ensuing Ramzan and Bonalu festivals. He said that he would be meeting Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao once again with a request to give permission to take up maintenance works in the interiors of religious places by the GHMC.
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar has explained the members that a circle wise monsoon plan has been prepared by GHMC which includes BT patch works, clearing of stagnation points, pruning of trees, keeping monsoon teams ready etc., He said that the GHMC has procured 12 more central emergency vehicles in addition to existing six vehicles and those vehicles will be placed at Zonal Commissioners control in order to reach any problematic area within 20 minutes of time.
