Hyderabad, June 19 : The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway has realised an amount of Rs. 6.13 Lakh towards penalty from the ticketless and irregular travellers.
The SCR conducted a fortress check against ticketless and irregular travel at Secunderabad station on Wednesday. The check was conducted under the direct supervision of M. Sarjana Rao, Chief Commercial Manager/Passenger Marketing, South Central Railway, P Ravi Padi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Secunderabad Division, SCR.
As many as 148 Ticket checking staff along with 15 Railway Protection Force personnel carried out the drive and checked the tickets of each passenger. During the fortress check, all the exit points at Secunderabad Railway station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers escaping from the fortress check. 50 Express trains, 10 Passenger trains and 45 MMTS trains were checked.
A total of 1466 persons, comprising of 714 persons travelling without ticket, 598 persons travelling irregularly and 154 cases of un-booked luggage were apprehended. INN
