Hyderabad, June 16 : Bodhan TRS MLA Aamir Shakil on Monday demanded that the State Government grant Rs 5 crore for each of the 10 districts of Telangana for ensuing Ramzan festival.
Speaking to media persons after participating in the review meeting held by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at the State Secretariat here, Shakil said he had requested KCR to ensure that elaborate arrangements are made for the Holy month of Ramzan beginning on June 29 in all the districts of the State. He said permission should be granted to keep the shops open round the clock during Ramzan and the district authorities should be directed to provide drinking water, uninterrupted power and basic amenities without any glitches. He said he had also requested the Chief Minister to pay one month salary to Imam and Maozan of all mosques in Telangana.
Shakil said that the police authorities should be directed not to harass the shop keepers and small traders, especially during the month of Ramzan. He suggested that Muslim RTC drivers and conductors should be exempted from evening duty hours and they should be deployed for morning duties.
He claimed that the Chief Minster has agreed to consider the demands. INN
