Hyderabad, June 16 : TDP legislator Thangirala Prabhakar Rao of Telugu Desam Party died of cardiac arrest at his residence in Krishna district late last night.
Prabhakar Rao was elected from Nandigama Assembly constituency of Krishna district in recent elections. He was yet to take oath as member of Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly.
He was 64 and is survived by two daughters and a son. His wife Pramila Kumari had passed away a few years ago. He was a lawyer by profession and was associated with the TDP since its inception.
According to party sources, Prabhakar Rao, along with the Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao went to visit Pulichintala Project. After his return, he suffered a severe cardiac arrest late on Sunday night. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. His last rites will be performed on Monday evening in his native Paritala village. Hundreds of people have gathered at KVR College, where his body has been kept, to pay their last respects.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has expressed shock and grief over the Prabhakar Rao’s death. He is likely to reach Nandigama later in the day to pay his last respect. INN
