Telangana Assembly adjourned sine die

Hyderabad, June 14 : The six-day long first session of Telangana State Legislative Assembly came to an end on Saturday with Speaker S Madhusudana Chary adjourning the House sine die.

The session, which started on June 9, began with the oath taking ceremony of new members of the House. The next day, Madhusudana Chary was elected as the first Speaker of Telangana Assembly. On June 11, Governor ESL Narasimhan addressed the joint session of Telangana Assembly and Council. The debate on Motion of Thanks on Governor’s address began on June 12 after the unanimous election of Medak MLA M Padma Devender Reddy as the Deputy Speaker.

After having the debate for two days till June 13, the Assembly took up as many as 12 different resolutions on the last day. As expected, the first session neither stormy nor too hectic.  INN
