Hyderabad, June 12 : Congress MLA DK on Thursday reiterated that the credit for formation of Telangana goes to AICC President Sonia Gandhi.
Speaking on the speech of Governor ESL Narasimhan in the Telangana State Legislative Assembly here, Aruna said that although the TRS launched the statehood movement, it was Sonia Gandhi who granted statehood for the region. Therefore, she said that everyone should be thankful to her for converting a six-decade old dream into a reality.
Aruna said that the TRS Government lacks clarity on how it proposes to implement the poll promises. She said that the speeches delivered by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao were converted into a document which was read out by the Governor. She said there was no mention on the sops to be given to those who participated in the statehood movement. The farm loan waiver promise was given a miss and there was no mention of steps to be taken for the welfare of students and industries.
The Congress MLA asked the government to clarify as to how it plans to provide 12 per cent reservation each to Tribals and Minorities. Further, she sought clarity on the implementation of SC, ST Sub-Plan in the new State. Similarly, she said although the government mentioned of providing compulsory and free KG to PG education, but it did not specify whether students would be admitted in government or private colleges.
