Hyderabad, June 8 : Telangana Transport Minister Mahender Reddy on Sunday expressed confidence that the cash-strapped Road Transport Corporation could be turned into a profit-making organisation.
Speaking after taking charge at the State Secretariat here, Mahender Reddy said that the proposal to take over the RTC would be discussed in the Telangana cabinet. He said that through proper planning and better administration, RTC could be revived. He said 30 to 50 new bus depots would be opened across Telangana in the next few months and old buses too would be replaced with new ones. He said there was no proposal to increase the bus fares.
