Hyderabad, June 8 : TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday was sworn-in as the chief minister of residuary Andhra Pradesh.
The glittering swearing-in ceremony began at the auspicious time at 7.27 PM. Governor ESL Narasimhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Naidu in the presence of lakhs of TDP supporters and several dignitaries including 15 Union Ministers, six Chief Ministers of different States at Acharya Nagarjuna University at Nambur village between Vijayawada and Guntur cities. BJP veterans including LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Rajnath Singh and others also attended the ceremony.
Naidu became the Chief Minister for the third time in his 36-year long political career.
As many as 19 cabinet ministers were also sworn in along with Naidu. They include KE Krishnamurthy and China Rajappa, who will be Deputy Chief Minsiters of Andhra Pradesh. The other ministers are Paritala Sunitha (Anantapur), Palle Raghunathareddy (Anantapur), Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy (Chittoor), Narayana (Nellore), Yanamala Ramakrishnudu (East Godavari), Pattipati Pulla Rao (Guntur), Ravela Kishore Babu (Guntur), Devineni Uma (Krishna), Kollu Ravindra (Krishna), Pitala Sujata (West Godavari), Atchannaidu Kinjarapu (Srikakulam), Ganta Srinivasa Rao (Visakhapatnam), Siddha Raghava Rao (Prakasam) and Kimidi Mrunalini (Vizianagaram). Two BJP MLAs – P Manikyala Rao (West Godavari) and K Srinivas (Krishna) were also sworn-in as ministers in Naidu’s cabinet.
Naidu’s cabinet is a mix of experienced and young members. Of 19, as many as 14 are first time ministers. Among new ministers, one belongs to Vysya community, two SCs, five Kammas (including Chandrababu), four Kapus, six BCs and two represents the Reddy community. The Tribal and Muslim communities got no representation in Naidu’s council of ministers. INN
