Hyderabad, June 7 : Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Nirmala Sitaraman on Saturday assured that the Central Government would provide all assistance for industrial development of Telangana.
Addressing a press conference at the Telangana BJP Headquarters at Nampally, Sitaraman said that the Centre has decided to extend the Industrial Policy of previous government till August this year. However, she said that the BJP-led NDA Government would come out with its own Industrial Policy in the next few months. With regard to Telangana, she said several industries were active in different districts and therefore, district-wise plans would be devised to promote industrial development. She said that the Centre would undertake programmes for skill training and later assist the trained personnel in production and marketing.
Sitaraman also informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed the officials to explore the plan for revival of sick Public Sector Undertakings. She said that the move would help several units like IDPL, DBR Mills and Allwyn in Telangana State. She said that Telangana State should make full use of its natural resources.
The union minister advised the political parties and leaders to cooperate with each other to ensure fast development of Telangana. She said that the political agenda should not over-shadow the development process in the new State. She also advised Telangana BJP unit to appoint coordinators at district-level to coordinate with the local industries and make them aware of the Central schemes.
Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy, Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreyya and other senior leaders were also present on the occasion and felicitated Sitaraman. INN
