Hyderabad, June 7 : Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah has assured that the medical and health sector in Telangana would be free from corruption and irregularities.
Speaking to media persons after assuming charge at the State Secretariat here on Saturday, Rajaiah said that all steps would be taken to develop and improve infrastructure in the public hospitals. He warned the staff of stringent action in case of dereliction of duties. He said he would conduct surprise checks of all hospital across Telangana. The medical education too will be promoted at a large scale, he said.
Rajaiah, who also holds the portfolio of Medical and Health, also signed the file increasing the bed strength in MGM Hospital of Warangal from 50 to 120. He also announced a 50-bed hospital in Nangunoor village of Medak district.
He thanked Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for making him the Deputy Chief Minister and assigning him an portfolio of Medical and Health. He said service of humanity is the motto of TRS Government in the State. Earlier, an all religious prayer was held at his chambers in the presence of prominent TRS leaders including Minister T Harish Rao. INN
