Hyderabad, June 7 : An hour after taking charge, Deputy Chief Minister Dr T Rajaiah on Saturday made a surprise visit to Gandhi Hospital to check the conditions.
Rajaiah interacted with the patients, staff and doctors of Gandhi Hospital enquired about the facilities. While the patients complained of lack of doctors, medicines and other facilities, the management complained of shortage of staff to maintain the hospital. He assured the patients that the TRS Government would take immediate measures to improve the facilities.
Rajaiah also informed that he would convene a meeting with the elected representatives of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad after the Assembly session to discuss the measures to be taken for improving the conditions of Gandhi and Osmania General Hospitals. He said both the hospitals serve as backbone of public health in Telangana and the government would take all steps to bring them on par with corporate hospitals. He alleged that the previous regimes ignored both the hospitals to indirectly promote private hospitals. However, he said that the TRS Government would ensure that poor gets all medical facilities in both Gandhi Hospital and OGH.
The Deputy CM also advised the Gandhi Hospital management to gear up to face the seasonal diseases in view of monsoon. INN
