Hyderabad, June 3: Former minister C Ramchandraiah has been elected as the leader of Congress party in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council.
Ramchandraiah was elected during the meeting of Congress MLCs from Seemandhra held at Indira Bhavan here on Tuesday. Following lack of consensus among Congress MLCs, the decision was left to AICC President Sonia Gandhi. Later, AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh announced Ramchandraiah’s election as CLP leader.
It may be mentioned that Ramchandraiah was the Leader of the House in the Legislative Council of united Andhra Pradesh. The Congress party has nil representation in the present Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh. (INN)
