Hyderabad, June 2 : The 11-member council of ministers of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is a mix of experienced and young politicians.
A majority of ministers in KCR’s cabinet holds professional degrees and a few of them have also served as ministers in the previous governments of Andhra Pradesh. Following is the profile of Team-KCR:
Mohammad Mahmood Ali:
Born on March 2, 1953, Mahmood Ali is a graduate in commerce. He was elected as the Member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council in 2013. He was the member of TRS Politburo and was also the president of party’s Minorities wing.
T Rajaiah:
Dr. Thatikonda Rajaiah represents Station Ghanpur Assembly constituency of Warangal district. He was elected from the seat in 2009 on Congress party’s ticket. However, he quit the party and post on the Telangana issue to join the TRS on October 30, 2011. He got re-elected in the by-elections held in 2012 and retained the seat in 2014 elections. Born on July 12, 1965, Rajaiah hails from Madiga community and is MBBS doctor by profession.
Nayani Narasimha Reddy:
Born on May 12, 1940, Nayani is among the most experienced politicians in KCR’s team. He began his political career during post-emergency period and was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1978 on Janata Party ticket. He contested in all elections since then, but could win only twice in 1985 and 2004. He had also served as a minister in the past.
He is most likely to be nominated as the MLCs within six months.
Etela Rajender:
Born on March 20, 1964, Etela Rajnder represents the Huzurabad Assembly segment. He got elected as MLA five times from 2004 to 2014, including two by-elections held in 2008 and 2010 . He did B Sc from the Osmania University. He served as the party’s floor leader in Assembly.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy:
Pocharam represents Banswada Assembly segment of Nizamabad district. Born on February 10, 1949, Pocharam is an engineer by profession.
He joined the Telugu Desam Party in 1984 from the Congress party. He served as a minister for two terms in TDP government. After a long stint of 27 years with the TDP, he quit the party to join TRS on the statehood issue in March 2011 and was also made a member of party’s Politburo.
T Harish Rao:
Harish Rao is the nephew of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao. Born on June 3, 1972, Harish was actively involved in TRS since its inception. He was first elected from Siddipet Assembly segment in 2004 by-election which were necessitated after KCR resigned from seat after deciding to retain Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat. He retained the seat in subsequent elections.
T Padma Rao:
Padma Rao represents Secunderabad Assembly constituency. He studied till Intermediate in Govt. Junior College, SP Road, Secunderabad. He was also elected as a Councillor of erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad. In 2004 elections too, he was elected from Secunderabad Assembly seat.
P Mahender Reddy:
Mahender Reddy represents Tandur Assembly constituency of Ranga Reddy district. He is the nephew of former minister late P Indra Reddy. He did graduation in BSc from the Osmania University. He is a four-time MLA and also Chairman of Patnam Rajender Reddy Memorial Educational Society which runs several engineering colleges.
K Tarakarama Rao:
Tarakarama Rao or KTR is the son of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Born on July 26, 1976, KTR, did his schooling from St. George’s Grammar school, Hyderabad. He hold a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Nizam College and a PG Degree in Biotechnology from University of Pune and another from the City University of New York. He also has an MBA in Marketing & E-commerce.
He began his political career in 2009 and won from Sircilla seat which he retained in 2010 by-elections and 2014 general elections.
Jogu Ramanna:
Born on July 4, 1963, Jogu Ramanna represents the Adilabad Assembly constituency and hails from Munuru Kapu community. He revolted against TDP to join the TRS on October 10, 2011, on the statehood issue.
G Jagadish Reddy:
Born on July 18, 1965, Jagadish Reddy is a law graduate. He represents Suryapet Assembly segment of Nalgonda district. INN
