JD (U) leader condemns Heptullah’s remarks

Hyderabad, May 28 : Janata Dal (United) national executive member Abdul Waheed on Wednesday condemned the statement of Union Minister for Minority Affairs Najma Heptullah opposing reservation for Muslims.

Speaking to media persons here, Abdul Waheed alleged that Heptullah’s statement was a clear indication that the BJP Government was not interested in the welfare of country’s largest minority. He said that Heptullah’s remarks were based on immaturity and lack of knowledge on the subject. He advised Haptullah to study the subject in-depth before opposing the reservation policy. He alleged that Heptullah looks more interested in pleasing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS than working for the welfare of minorities in the country.

Abdul Waheed also condemned the statement of another Union Minister Jitender Singh wherein he said that the Centre was ready to review the Article 370. He said that the BJP ministers have started making controversial statements in less than 24 hours after assuming their charge. He advised the BJP Government to focus on people’s welfare than creating controversies.  INN
