Results of municipal elections after May 7

New Delhi, April 7 : The Supreme Court on Monday ruled that the results of the municipal elections in the state should be declared only after May 7.

Observing that the results might affect the outcome of the elections for Assembly and Lok Sabha, the Supreme Court said that they can be declared only after May 7 after the conclusion of polling in Seemandhra region. “Why are you implementing different attitudes in Panchayat and municipal elections?” asked the court. The court also faulted the state election commission for changing its arguments more than once.  INN
