Hyderabad, April 6 : State Haj Committee Special Officer Prof. S A Shukoor on Sunday informed that a total of 18,080 Haj Applications were received from all over the State for the Haj 2014.
The highest number of applications are from Hyderabad with 8,839 applicants in 3,742 covers. Only five applicants submitted Haj Applications from the Srikakulam district, while 12 applicants in seven covers have submitted Haj Applications form Prakasam district. He said that the Haj Committee of India has not declared the Quota and the date for the Qurrah so far. However, the State Haj committee is prepared to conduct the Qurrah.
Altogether 1,472 Haj Applications were received from the Reserved Categories of 70 Plus years and fourth timers, who are automatically selected without Qurrah. The Qurrah will be held for the rest of the 16,608 applicants. Under the Reserved categories, the highest number of 901 applications have been received from Hyderabad followed by 91 from Nellore district. INN
