Hyderabad, March 9 : Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday stated that his party was yet to take a decision on having alliances with other parties in the next elections.
Amid strong speculations that the TDP might enter into an alliance with the BJP, Naidu stated that he was yet to take a decision on alliances. He did not name any party, including the BJP, which could emerge as an ally of the TDP.
Naidu made this statement while admitting former ministers TG Venkatesh and Erasu Pratap into the TDP at an event held at NTR Trust Bhavan. Naidu said that he was welcoming both the leaders wholeheartedly. He also predicted that the TDP would sweep the elections in Seemandhra region. “In the coming days, there will be only one party in Seemandhra and that will be TDP,” he said.
Commenting on the proposed party of former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the TDP chief said that the former failed to do anything for the State and therefore, he won’t be able to do anything with just five MLAs on his side. Instead, he advised Kiran to support the TDP. Similarly, he wanted cine star Pawan Kalyan to support the Telugu Desam Party. He said that the Telugu people would benefit if TDP becomes strong. He also said that the TDP had the capability of reuniting the Telugu people and said it would be the moral responsibility of TDP to develop both the States.
