Water Board to act tough against defaulters

Hyderabad, March 7 : Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) Dr M Jaganmohan held a Revenue review meeting of O&M Divisions. XII, XIII, XIV, XV & XVI under jurisdiction of O&M Circle-IV, at Board Office, Khairatabad on Friday in the presence of Dr.P.S.Suryanarayana, Director (Revenue), S Prabhakara Sharma, Director (Technical) Chief General Managers (Engg./Revenue, O&M Circle, Dy.General Managers(Engg.) and Managers(Engg.).

The Executive Director reviewed among other issues VDS,OTS, status of meters, billing pattern, verification of disconnected connections, Water Accountability, change of categories, Rain Water Harvesting etc.

The Executive Director instructed the GMs (Engg.) for improving revenue collections by issuing timely bills, notices to high defaulters.

He also instructed them to focus on the on-going VDS-Voluntary Disclosure Scheme of illegal connections and getting them regularized and also One-Time settlement of dues with interest waiver up to March 31.

The Executive Director said that after the due date, not only heavy penalties will be levied against illegal connection holders/defaulters but also criminal cases will be filed against them.  INN
