Hyderabad, Feb 21 : The South Central Railway conducted a 36 hrs Fortress Check against ticketless and irregular travel at Secunderabad Railway station on from 06:00 hrs of 19th to 18:00 hrs of 20th February. The Check was conducted under the direct supervision of Shri A.Bharat Bhushan, Chief Commercial Manager, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Deputy Chief Commercial Manager and Assistant Commercial Manager, South Central Railway.
As many as 165 Ticket checking staff and 21 Railway Protection Force Personnel were involved in the check. During the fortress check, all the exit points at Secunderabad Railway station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers escaping from the Fortress Check. 94 trains including 64 Express Trains, 9 Passenger Trains and 21 MMTS Trains were checked daily.
A total of 3465 persons were apprehended, comprising of 1833 persons travelling without ticket, 1060 persons travelling irregularly and 572 cases of un-booked luggage. A total of Rs. 13.02 Lakh was realised towards penalty from these persons. INN
