Mahila Cong chief praises Sonia for T-formation

Hyderabad, Feb 21 : AP Mahila Congress president Akula Lalitha on Friday thanked AICC President Sonia Gandhi for her role in the formation of Telangana State.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Lalitha said that the credit for the Telangana formation goes to over 1100 students and youth who sacrificed their lives for the statehood cause. Further, she said it was Sonia Gandhi who turned the Telangana dream into a reality. She said that Sonia Gandhi took the risk of losing the entire base of Congress party in Seemandhra region by agreeing to the Telangana demand.

Lalitha also praised the activists of AP Mahila Congress for actively participating in the Telangana movement.

Earlier, Mahila Congress activists organised massive celebrations in Gandhi Bhavan and raised slogans in favour of former PCC chief D Srinivas.  INN
