Hyderabad, Feb 15 : State Minister Dokka Manikyavara Prasad on Saturday requested the Centre and Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to revoke the suspension of 17 Seemandhra MPs from the Lok Sabha.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Dokka said that it would be unfair to debate the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill in the absence of Seemandhra MPs. Therefore, he said that the suspension of all 17 MPs should be revoked to enable them to express their views on the statehood issue.
Dokka also dismissed the possibilities of Chief Minsiter N Kiran Kumar Reddy floating a new political party. He said that Kiran Kumar Reddy would never revolt against AICC President Sonia Gandhi who made him the Chief Minister.
He also condemned the violent incidents that occurred in the Lok Sabha on Thursday and demanded that steps should be taken to avoid such incidents in future. He also condemned comparing Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal with Bhagat Singh. He said Rajagopal’s intentions were right, but methods were wrong.
Dokka said that he did not receive the invite for the meeting of Seemandhra legislators convened by the Chief Minister on Sunday. INN
