Hyderabad, Feb 15 : GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has taken up several Pro-poor initiatives. Providing placement linked skill trainings is a prime activity among them with an objective to increase the living standards to develop the self confidence of unemployed youth and to provide sustainable employment for under-employed youth in the jurisdiction of the GHMC.
The Commissioner has visited multi skill Training Centre which is under construction at Janatha Nagar Community Hall, Kukatpally Circle and said that the main aim of multi skill Training Centres is to cover the educated poor and other unemployed youth and it is also proposed to establish Multi skill training centers in 13 locations in all 5 zones of GHMC area to improve the wage employment and self employment to the unemployed youth. The multi skill training centers would be linked up with major industries and need-based training would be given in the centers, he said.
In Multi skill training centers 3 to 4 different courses will be imparting the trainings to the unemployed youth at a time, he said. The GHMC is spending an amount of Rs. 127.83 lakhs for providing suitable infrastructure arrangements for training to the unemployed youth and GHMC is imparting training and placement free of cost to the unemployed youth, he added.
