Hyderabad, Feb 13 : Lok Satta national president and Kukatpally MLA Dr Jayprakash Narayan on Thursday expressed regret that the present Legislative Assembly failed to discuss the issues of public importance during its sittings.
Speaking to media persons at Assembly’s media point here, Dr JP said that the Assembly did not take up important issues for debate in the last four-and-a-half years. He said serious introspection should be done on why the legislature failed to conduct discussions on public issues.
With regard to the incidents of violence in Lok Sabha during tabling of Telangana Bill, he demanded that the guilty MPs should be punished severely. He blamed the Congress Government for the present situation and said that the sensitive issues should not be dragged and an early solution to Telangana tangle could have avoided such incidents.
