Hyderabad, Feb 6 : Congress MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy on Thursday alleged that the Centre presented the Telangana Bill in union cabinet and Assembly like “Idly and Sambhar”.
Speaking to media persons here, Anam blamed the “Muhuratam” when the then Union Home Minister P Chidambaram announced the formation of Telangana in 2009. He said it was due to the impact of Chidambaram and bad “Muhuratam”, the Telangana issue was being treated by the Centre like “Idly, Sambhar”. He said that the Centre could have presented the Telangana Bill before the Union Cabinet and Assembly in a more dignified and organised manner. However, everything was done in haste, he alleged.
Anam also accused YSR Congress Party president Jagan Mohan Reddy of making efforts to divide the State. He said that the refusal to support Adala Prabhakar Reddy’s candidature in Rajya Sabha elections by the YSRCP was a proof that Jagan was damaging the cause of Samaikhyandhra. He said Jagan first led Adala to revolt against the Congress party and then refused to extend his support. INN
