GHMC plans monthly job melas in all zones

Hyderabad, Feb 2 : GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain on Sunday advised the new recruits to stick on to this job at least for a year and to attend all the works that would be entrusted to them with much dedication which will be a stepping stone for their future careers.

The Mayor, along with GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, has handed over job placement letters to the selected candidates in job mela held at West Zone on 8th January 2014. He has shared his experiences with the recruits and informed that he being an MCA graduate made to attend phone calls for a period of one year because of which his communication skills were developed.

Majid Hussain has congratulated the parents of the recruits because of whose pains their children could reach this level. He has requested the IT companies to take part in Job melas, to be organized by GHMC in a big number and promised that GHMC will provide them good hands. He further informed that GHMC will conduct at least one Job mela per month at zonal/ circle offices, which could provide employment to 1000 youth per mela.

Speaking on the occasion the Commissioner said that in the job mela conducted at NKNR Gardens, Y junction, Kukatpally on 8th January 2014, 40 companies have participated,2009 candidates were attended, 726 candidates were short listed, 326 candidates were selected out of which 280 candidates were joined and 16 candidates have joined and left the job.

He further informed that the job mela will be a platform for the unemployed youth and the companies to choose interested of their choice depending upon the educational qualifications and vice versa with employers selecting the right candidates. During the job mela the registration fee and the entry for both the companies and the unemployed youth is free of cost, he added.

Earlier, the Mayor and Commissioner had an interaction with the recruits and the recruits expressed their gratitude for providing such an opportunity at their door step and having n number of companies at a single platform provides a facility for candidates to choose the best among the present.
