Hyderabad, Jan 16 : Railways Minister Mallikarjun Kharge will lay the foundation stone for the construction of Medak-Akkannapet new rail Line at a function to be held at Govt. Boys High School at Medak on 19th January.
The 17.2 Km. long Medak-Akkannapet new railway line, which was sanctioned in Railway Budget of financial year 2012-13, will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 129.30 Cr. The cost of the project will be shared by Railways and the Govt. of AP equally (on 50:50 basis).
The function will be held in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Raja Narasimha, Ministers DK Aruna, Dr. J. Geetha Reddy and V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy, Govt. Whip T Jayaprakash Reddy, MPs Nandi Yellaiah and Vijaya Shanthi; MLCs – V Bhoopal Reddy, K Swamy Goud, Paturi Sudhakakar Reddy and Md. Farooq Hussain; MLA (Medak) – M. Hanmantha Rao and Sarpanch of Akkannapet Gram Panchayat Maheshwari. Other dignitaries and senior railway officials will also participate in the function. INN
