Hyderabad, Jan 9 : The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Thursday informed that the National Immunization Day of Pulse Polio immunization programme will be held 19th January.
Hyderabad being the capital city of Andhra Pradesh has 47.49 lakh of people with 6,56,454 of children of 0.5 years age group will be supplemented with a dose of oral polio vaccine (OPV) which will eradicate poliomyelitis from Andhra Pradesh state making it a polio free. In this connection, the pulse polio drops would be administered at booths on January 19 from 7 AM to 6 PM. There will be House-to-House activity on 20th, 21st and 22nd January.
In order to oversee the implementation of programme, the Government reviewed the District Task Force for successful implementation of the intensified Pulse Polio Programme in twin cities and cantonment board area also.
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar will be convening the meeting of District Task force with all the designated members on Friday at 10AM at 2nd Floor, Panwar Hall, GHMC building, Tank Bund, Hyderabad to discuss the arrangements. INN
