Hyderabad, Dec 21 : The All Party delegation, meeting with Prime Minister on the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict has been a mere farce and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has organized the show which is nothing but eyewash, YSR Congress has said.
“Article 262 clearly states that neither Supreme Court nor any other court has the jurisdiction to adjudicate any dispute on sharing of river waters between states. Knowing well of the constitutional powers and the limitations of the Government and the court, Kiran Kumar Reddy has taken the all party leaders for a ride,” YSRCP senior leader Dr Mysoora Reddy told reporters here on Saturday.
The delegation has left for Delhi and retuned with no purpose served and Prime Minister telling the team to argue the case strongly in the apex court. “It is unfortunate that people in senior positions are not well versed with the provisions of article 262. The All Party leaders need not go all the way to Delhi to hear from the leader of the country to explore legal options. It is not within his limits to arbitrate on the dispute as well,” he said.
When all of us know that Parliament is supreme and judiciary has its own limitations, still the delegation was taken to Delhi for the free advice which will have no bearing on the result of the verdict and the Chief Minister has fooled all the parties, he said.
When asked about the meeting organized by APNGO leader, he said, “P Ashok Babu has invited political parties to discuss about Samaikyandhra. In that case, political parties that have clearly spelt out their stand on united state should have been invited. When TDP and Congress, the two parties which do not contribute to the united state concept, are also invited we cannot share the dais with them. Our Party is very clear from the beginning about the united state but the same is not the case with Congress and TDP.”
There could be sympathizers for Samaikyandhra in Congress but that does not mean it is the Party stand. The decision taken by the CWC, the highest decision making body of Congress, will be the Party stand though some of the members may have different views. Congress stands for division and it is going ahead with the process.
Similarly, TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu has taken a decision to give the letter accepting the division after discussing it in the Party Politburo. That is the Party stand unless he either withdraws the letter or issues a fresh letter in favour of Samaikyandhra, he said.
Some people coming out and shouting slogans cannot be the Party stand and their acts and talk is not in concord with party line.
Only three parties, YSRCP, CPI (M) and MIM are in favour of a united state while all others are against it. If Ashok Babu wanted to extend the platform to all political parties they should have invited TRS, BJP and others as well.
Since it is for Samaikyandhra, political parties that have given their stand in favour only should be attending and we did not find reason to share dais with TDP and Congress which are committed for division.
“It seems that Ashok Babu is trying to provide a platform for leaders who are differing with party leadership. If he is sincere, he should convince the leadership of Congress and TDP on the need to keep the State united and call them for a meeting,” he said.
