Hyderabad, Nov 28 : AICC Secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Thursday claimed that Congress president Sonia Gandhi took the decision of formation of Telangana in the interest of Telugu people.
Talking to reporters here, Sudhakar Reddy said that by giving two States to Telugu speaking people, Sonia Gandhi wanted the people of this State to prosper. He said two States would ensure the development of all regions in general and the Telugu people in particular. He said that although the language was same, the Telangana and Seemandhra were culturally different. He condemned TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for criticising Sonia Gandhi for taking a favourable decision on Telangana.
Sudhakar Reddy also said that Bhadrachalam would remain a part of Telangana State. He said that Bhadrachalm is the heart of Telangana and any move to merge the same with Seemandhra would be opposed at all levels.
