Father sexually assaults 14-year-old daughter

Hyderabad, Nov 27: In a shocking incident, the Bollaram police on Wednesday registered a case against a 40-year-old man on the charges of sexually assaulting and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter.

The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by a NGO to whom the victim had approached. It has been alleged that father was sexually assaulting the girl for the past few months. The police did not reveal the identity of the accused as he was related to the victim. Further investigations are on.

Fake God man held for duping people 

Hyderabad, Nov 27: The Mailardevpally police on Wednesday arrested a fake God man on charges of duping people by diverting their attention.

The accused, Kalyan Raju, 35, is a native of Kadapa district. He allegedly used to visit the house of unsuspecting people on pretext of performing special Pooja to rid of problems and rob their jewellery and ornaments by diverting their attention. He cheated a couple in a similar manner at Babul Reddy Nagar in Mylardevpally about 20 days ago after which a police launched a manhunt for him.

Raju was detained while moving in a suspicious manner and on interrogation admitted to the crime. The police recovered eight tolas of gold from his possession, according to Inspector B Ramesh.

Software engineer among five killed in road accidents

Hyderabad, Nov 27: In separate cases, five persons, including a software engineer, were killed in different road accidents.

In Madhapur police limits, 28-year-old K Lakhsmi Naga Durga sufferred grievious injuries when the motorcycle she was riding along with her husband Praveen met with an accident on Wednesday. The car running in front of their motorcycle applied sudden break and in order to save themselves Praveen took a left turn and consequently hit another car. Both were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where Durga was declared brought dead while Praveen sustained injuries.

They were residents of Sumitra Nagar of Kukatpally and Durga was a software engineer, police said.

In another case, 29-year-old S Rajesh of Amberpet was killed after he fell down from the car’s dicky on which he was seated. The accident occurred on Shivam Road in the wee hours of Wednesday. He suffered grievous injuries and on being rushed to a private hospital he was declared brought dead, according to Amberpet police.

In a separate case, K Naga Raju, 50, of Shamshabad, died of injuries which he suffered after the tractor he was driving was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Shamshabad on Wednesday. He was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital where declared him brought dead.

In a similar case, an unidentified man of about 50 years died on the spot after he was hit by an unidentified lorry between Shivrampally and Dharamkanta road on Tuesday night. The Mailardevpalli police preserved the body at the OGH mortuary for post-mortem and identification.

In a different case, 41-year-old P Bhoomaiah died on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a private bus near his residence in Ghatkesar. He was a centering labourer. Police registered a case against the bus driver. 

Three persons commit suicide

 Hyderabad, Nov 27: A 30-year-old man committed suicide by hanging at his residence in Musheerabad police limits.

The deceased, D Saibaba, took the extreme step at his residence in Hari Nagar. According to police, Saibaba’s wife refused to return from her parents’ house where she went after having an argument with him. Upset with her wife’s behaviour, he is suspected to committed suicide.

In a similar case, 29-year-old M Ravi Kiran committed suicide by hanging after his wife refused to return home from her parents’ house. He took the extreme step on Tuesday night at his residence in Tukkaramgate. He was a businessman and was facing some financial problems for the past few months, police said.

In a different case, 30-year-old Md Babar Khan, committed suicide allegedly due to financial problems. According to Chandrayangutta police, Babar Khan had set himself ablaze on November 24 and succumbed at the Osmania General Hospital on Tuesday night.

Non-payment of salary by Gram Panchayat drives cleaner to suicide

Hyderabad, Nov 27: Non-payment of salary by a Gram Panchyat for the last three months drove a cleaner to commit suicide.

According to the RGI Airport police, the deceased, J Kumar, had set himself ablaze on November 5 and succumbed to the burn injuries at the Osmania General Hospital on Tuesday night. He was a residentof Bahadur Ali Makhta at Shamshabad and used to work as a sweeper in a local Gram Panchayat. However, he was facing financial problems as he was not paid salary for the last three months. Further investigations are on.

Two killed in train accidents

Hyderabad, Nov 27: A 45-year-old woman died on the spot after she was hit by a train while she was trying to cross the tracks between Hafizpet and Hitec City stations.

The accident occurred on Tuesday evening. The Nampally Railway police later identified the deceased as G Nagamma, a resident of KPHB Colony.

In another case, an unidentified man of about 65 years died on the spot after he fell down from a running train between Budwel and Umdanagar stations on Tuesday evening. The Kachiguda Railway Police has preserved the body at the Osmania General Hospital for autopsy and identification.

Woman commits suicide after losing gold chain 

Hyderabad, Nov 27: A 29-year-old woman committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor at her parents’ house in Banjara Hills police limits.

According to police, G Jyothi of Qutubullapur, came to meet her mother at latter’s residence in Road No 11, Banjara Hills, on November 21. Meanwhile, she went to Banglaguda to meet her brother and enroute she lost her three-tolas gold chain. She was allegedly rebuked by her husband Bangaraiah for losing the gold chain. Upset with the development, she took the extreme step on Tuesday night and jumped from the fifth floor. She died on the spot.

Security guard killed in accident at HMR site

Hyderabad, Nov 27: A 28-year-old private security guard suffered grievous injuries after he was hit by a JCB machine at the work site of Hyderabad Metro Rail at LB Nagar.

The deceased, Gaurav Jain, met with the accident on Tuesday evening. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital where he died a few hours after admission. He was a resident of TV Tower in Malakpet and native of Punjab. The LB Nagar police registered a case of negligence against the JCB driver. 

One held for transporting ID liquor sachets           

Hyderabad, Nov 27: The Mangalhat police arrested one persons for transporting illicit liquor sachets.

According to the police, the accused, Arjun Singh, 24, was arrested and one plastic bag containing 398 ID liquor sachets were seized from his possession. A case under AP Prohibition Act and other relevant sections was registered against him. He has been remanded to judicial custody, Sub-Inspector B Jagdishwar Rao said.
