Kanna assures assistance for cyclone-hit farmers

Hyderabad, Nov 27: Agriculture Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana on Wednesday assured that the State Government would take immediate measures to help the farmers who were affected due to cyclones.

Speaking to media persons after meeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the State Secretariat here, Kanna said that the Chief Minister has assured to consider payment of enhanced input subsidy, seed subsidy and waiving of loans of farmers who were hit due to recent cyclones. He said that the Chief Minister has been continuously monitoring the preparations for very severe cyclonic storm ‘Lehar’ which is likely to make a landfall on Thursday afternoon.

Kanna said that he did not discuss any political issues with the Chief Minister.
