Younger brother booked for sister’s murder

 Hyderabad, Nov 25: The Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police on Monday registered a case of murder against a person for beating his elder sister to death.

According to police, the deceased, Rehana Begum, was residing at her father’s residence in Ali Nagar of Yellareddyguda along with her husband Shaik Haji Rahmatullah for the past few months. She was also paying rent for the same. However, her younger brother Kaleem was forcing her to vacate the house and made it clear that she would not be given a share in that property.

On November 22, Kaleem allegedly beat up Rehana Begum causing her grievous injuries. She was admitted to a private hospital where she died on November 23. The next day, her elder brother arrived from Australia and lodged a complaint of murder against his younger brother.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case of murder against Kaleem and sent the body to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. Further investigations are on.

Dowry harassment drives woman to suicide 

Hyderabad, Nov 25: A 24-year-old woman committed suicide allegedly due to the harassment for additional dowry.

 According to Sharmirpet police, the deceased, M Lakshmi, took the extreme step on Sunday night at her residence in Uddamari. She was married to one Srinu and a few years ago. However, she was allegedly being harassed by her husband for more dowry. Police registered a case and began investigations.

 Rebuked for watching TV, man commits suicide

Hyderabad, Nov 25: A 30-year-old man committed suicide after he was rebuked by her family members for watching TV.

The deceased, Shanawaz, had set himself ablaze on November 23 at his residence in Narapally of Ghatkesar. He died at the Gandhi Hospital on Monday morning, according to Ghatkesar police.

 Man electrocuted to death

 Hyderabad, Nov 25: A 38-year-old man was electrocuted to death at his residence where he undertook some construction work.

 According to KPHB Police, the deceased, P Mallaiah, was electrocuted while trying to evacuate water that got filled due to recent rains in the pillars’ foundation at his residence in KPHB on Sunday evening. He died on the spot. The body was later shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

 Two auto-drivers held for minor’s rape

Hyderabad, Nov 25: The Rajendra Nagar police on Monday arrested two auto-drivers who allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl.

The accused – Md Irfan (21) of Vadi-e-Mehmood and Syed Meraj (22) of Chintalmet were arrested near Azamgarh. They kidnapped and raped the minor girl from Jalal Baba Nagar on November 6. A manhunt was launched to arrest the accused after police registered a case based on a complaint filed by the victim’s parents. Both the accused are being been sent to judicial remand, Rajendranagar Inspector Ch Kushalkar said.

 Two killed, four injured in road accidents

 Hyderabad, Nov 25: In two separate cases, two persons were killed four others were injured in different roads in the city.

 In a major accident, five members of a family were injured when the car they were travelling in lost control and hit a stationary lorry near Nagole cross roads in the wee hours of Monday. According to LB Nagar police, Ch Venkatesham Madan, 65, and his family members were returning from Manda Yadav Reddy Function Hall after attending the reception of his daughter and met with the accidents. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where Madan was declared brought dead.

Madan’s wife Sharada, daughters – Saumya and Hema and son-in-law Sainand Chary sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment. The LB Nagar police registered a case against the lorry driver for the wrong parking and not switching on the indicators.

In another case, a 64-year-old man suffered grievous injuries when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a lorry near Masab Tank crossroads on Monday. On being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was declared brought dead. He was later identified as Md Taher, a resident of Ghazigalli of Golconda, Humayun Nagar police said.

One killed while crossing railway tracks

 Hyderabad, Nov 25: An unidentified man of about 50 years died on the spot after he was hit by a train while trying to cross the tracks.

The accident occurred on the tracks between Hafizpet and Chandanagar on Monday morning. The Nampally Railway Police preserved the body at the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and identification.
