Eluru, Nov 17 : Union Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao on Sunday stated that Bhadrachalam would be part of Seemandhra region if the division of Andhra Pradesh becomes inevitable.
Speaking to media persons after participating in the Rachabanda programme at Polavaram of West Godavari district here, Kavuri expressed confidence that the State would remain divided. However, in case of division, Bhadrachalam division would be made part of Seemandhra region. Earlier, Kavuri faced the ire of Samiakhyandhra activits who tried to attack his convoy during the Rachabanda programme. However, police swung into action and took some activists into custody.
Kavuri said that the ministers from Seemandhra region would present their views before the Group of Ministers (GoM) on November 18 and would strongly oppose the division of State. Further, he said that efforts would be made to get National Project status for Polavaram project. INN
