Vijayawada, Nov 17 : Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association president G Ashok Babu on Sunday alleged that “political rowdism” was at its peak in Hyderabad and Vijayawada.
Talking to reporters here, Ashok Babu said that the decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh was politically motivated and aimed at making political gains in 2014 elections. He said in order to please a few individuals, the Centre was suppressing the aspirations and sentiments of a majority of people in the State. He said that a group of few politicians were resorting to “rowdism” for their personal gain while ignoring the welfare of common people.
Ashok Babu also alleged that the Centre lacks clarity on the bifurcation issue. He said except for dividing the State, there is no clarity on the future of two States, its people, distribution of assets, demarcation of boundaries and other issues. He claimed that a majority of people in the State were in favour of united Andhra Pradesh and the political parties should not go against the people’s wishes. INN
