Hyderabad, Nov 16 : The most important and major festival of the Sikh Community across the world, the 544th Prakash Utsav (birthday celebrations) of Sri Guru Nanak Devji, the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikh Religion, will be celebrated on a grand scale in the city on Sunday.
To mark the important occasion, the Prabhandak Committees of Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj have joined hands to make the celebration a grand success programme, Prabhandak Committee, GSS President, S.Baldev Singh Bagga and GSGSS President S Kuldeep Singh Bagga said.
A “Vishaal Deewan” (Mass Congregation) will be held at Exhibition Grounds at Nampally from 11 AM to 4 PM on Sunday where over 35,000 to 40,000 Sikh Devotees and other community faiths will participate. The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render Gurubani keertans. Bhai Davinder Singh Sodhi of Ludhiana (Punjap), Bhai Amrit Pal Singhji of Sangrur wale (Punjab), Bhai Jaswinder Singhji, Bhai Hari Singh Hazuri Ragi Jatha will recite shabad keertans and throw light on the teachings of Sikh Gurus. After the culmination of the congregation Guru-ka-Langar (free community kitchen) will be served.
A Night Kirtan Darbar will be held at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha at Afzalgunj from 9.30 PM to 2.30 AM in which above renowned Ragi Jathas will render keertans and kathas followed by fireworks display. INN
