Panabaka wants UT status for Hyderabad

Visakhapatnam, Nov 16 : Union Minister of State for Petroleum Panabaka Lakshmi on Saturday demanded that Hyderabad should be made a Union Territory after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons here, Panabaka said that the she would raise the demand for UT status for Hyderabad during the meeting of Group of Ministers (GoM) with Union Ministers from Seemandhra region on November 18. She said although the Congress Working Committee in its resolution has announced that Hyderabad would be the joint capital of both the States for a period of 10, the GoM would be pressurised to convert the State capital into a Union Territory, if bifurcation of the State was inevitable.
