Hyderabad, Nov 14 : To counter the report allegedly sent by the Chief Secretary to the Group of Ministers (GoM) against Telangana, the Congress leaders from the region have decided to send a factual report to the GoM.
Speaking to media persons here, Rajya Sabha MP Palvai Govardhan asked as to how the Chief Secretary could send a report to the GoM without the approval of State Cabinet. He alleged that the report was prepared and sent at the instance of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and other Seemandhra leaders to mislead the GoM. However, such efforts would be countered and the T-Congress leaders would explain the factual position to the GoM at the earliest.
Palvai also demanded that the Centre grant National Project status to an irrigation project in Telangana region as it has done with Polavaram project on Godavari River.
The Congress MP also alleged that the conspiracies against Telangana formation were hatched during the regime of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. In 2009 elections, YSR gave tickets to people who could not raise voice in favour of statehood for Telangana region. INN
