Hyderabad, Nov 14 : GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar directed the Executive Engineer (Building Maintenance), GHMC to depute a team of sanitation workers for continuously cleaning the toilets, floorings floor wise, etc., to maintain the building neat and tidy.
He further directed the Executive Engineer to inspect each of the drainage pipe lines and prepare the estimates to take up the works of drainage leakages and also take up repairs for duct line work situated at the ground floor. The grievance redressal day for the employees of the GHMC conducted on Thursday at Panwar Hall, 31 grievances have been received from the GHMC employees pertaining to outsourcing payment of salaries, pending of pensionary benefits, modernization of the existing GHMC Printing Press, promotion issues, transfers, poor maintenance of the GHMC building and various establishment matters.
The Commissioner further directed the Engineering officials of the building maintenance for proper maintenance of the entire GHMC building. He further directed the officials to visit some of the 5 Star hotels in the City to know how the toilet maintenance works are taken up in the star hotels and follow the same lines by preparing an estimate with in a week’s time.
Responding to the grievances pertaining to modernization of GHMC Printing Press, the Commissioner assured the staff that he will inspect the Printing Press and action would be initiated after examining the need of modernization for the existing GHMC Printing Press. The Commissioner directed the Additional Commissioner (Admn.) to personally monitor all the grievances pertaining to establishment matters on priority and sort out the issues at the earliest.
Somesh Kumar also interacted with the outsourcing staff of security guards and staff of housekeeping and enquired about their problems during the breakfast with some of the outsourcing employees at Face to Face Hall and assured them all possible help will be given to them and instructed them to be perform their duties more effectively. The Station Fire Officers working in 5 zones have requested for petrol allowance as each one of them has to inspect the entire zone. Some of the newly appointed employees have requested for clarity regarding pension contribution scheme. The lady employees have requested to appoint one clerical cadre employee to take care of the baby care centre existing in GHMC Head Office.
Later in the evening, the Commissioner visited the GHMC Printing Press and enquired about the working conditions of the existing printing machines and found that 4 printing machines are completely out of order and repairs to those machines cannot be taken up as they are completely out dated. The Commissioner has inspected all the 45 job works undertaken by the Printing Press and opined that if better facilities provided they can take up various types of job works with more efficiently. While going round the building the Commissioner has observed that posters, banners are being displayed and erected in the building premises and said that it is the duty of the GHMC to keep the City clean and GHMC should start the cleaning process from its residence. He directed the maintenance staff for immediate cleaning of the premises and by evening the premises has become posters and banners free.
The Commissioner, GHMC said that 250 and odd grievances have been received from all the zones and Head Office.
Additional Commissioners P Venkata Rami Reddy, D Ronald Rose, L Vandana Kumar and CN Raghu Prasad and the employees from the Town Planning, Health and Engineering wings have participated in the redressel grievances of employees held in GHMC Head Office. INN
