New Delhi, Nov 12: BJP State President G Kishan Reddy made it clear that his party was in favour of formation of Telangana State through bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to reporters after meeting the Group of Ministers (GoM) here no Tuesday, Kishan Reddy said that the BJP’s stand was made clear demanding formation of Telangana State with 10 districts and Hyderabad as its capital. He said that the BJP has also asked the Centre to address the apprehensions, fears and concerns being raised by people of Seemandhra region over the bifurcation of the State.
Kishan Reddy alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, union ministers and other leaders from Seemandhra regions were trying to incite people and they should be asked to behave responsibly. He said that the Centre was responsible for the present situation in the State and it should find solutions for the same.
Reiterating that the BJP was in favour of smaller states for effective growth and administration, Kishan Reddy said that the Centre should come out with a comprehensive plan on deal with the present situation. He also insisted that the issue be discussed in the Parliament and the BJP’s national leadership was ready to discuss the same. He also informed that the GoM did not disclose anything related to revenues of Hyderabad or other details. “The GoM told us that they were in the process of gathering information and all the details would be incorporated in the Telangana Bill,” he said.
The leader said that the Telangana Bill should be passed in the Parliament and not in Assembly and therefore, it should be introduced in the ensuing winter session of the Parliament.
