Hyderabad, Oct 29 : The Special Task Force headed by former Director General of CRPF K Vijayakumar on Tuesday held a consultative meeting with senior officials with regard to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
The Task Force, constituted by the UPA Government on Monday, has been assigned the responsibility of studying the security scenario, division of assets and administrative framework in connection with division of Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana. After holding consultations with government officials and institutions for about three days, the Task Force would submit a report to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana.
On Tuesday, the Task Force held a meeting at the Centre for Good Governance which was attended by BSF IG Santosh Mehra, Principal Secretary Ajay Mishra, NHA Joint Director Rajiv Sharma, APPA Director Damodar, ACB Director Kumar Vishwajit, Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma, DGP (Operations) JV Ramudu, APSRTC MD AK Khan and other senior officials.
Talking to reporters after his arrival earlier, Vijayakumar said that the consultations would be primarily aimed at proper distribution of assets to ensure that both the State remain stronger. He said he would brief the media after the end of consultation process which could go on for two days.
It may be mentioned that former Directors General of Police H J Dora, C Anjaneya Reddy, A K Mohanty and K Aravinda Rao have reportedly been made part of the consultative committee engaged in deliberations with the Task Force. INN
