Hyderabad, Oct 28 : The CBI Special Court on Monday granted bail to former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana, an accused in the Vanpic aspect of quid pro quo investments case against YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Mopidevi was arrested by the CBI on May 25, 2012, on the charges of irregularities in the Vanpic segment of Disproportionate Assets case of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He was granted interim bail by the CBI court on more than one occasion. The court directed Mopidevi not to leave Hyderabad without the court’s permission and he should not try to influence witnesses or tamper with the evidence.
Mopidevi was also asked to furnish a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and two sureties of like sum towards execution of the bail. He is expected to be released from Chanchalguda Jail on Monday evening after the completion of bail formalities. INN
