Hyderabad, Oct 27 : GHMC Commisioner Somesh Kumar on Sunday conducted inspection of newly developed housing colonies in Mallapur (Kapra Circle) and Devendranagar (Uppal Circle).
During the inspection in Kapra Circle, the Commissioner enquired with the SE (Housing) about the reasons for delay in the construction. The SE has explained that due to non-supply of cement, work has been delayed and apprised that out of 32 blocks consisting of 512 houses, 16 blocks were grounded. The Commissioner has instructed to plan for early completion of remaining blocks. In the second phase, the Commissioner instructed the SE to complete all blocks duly providing infrastructure and other facilities and in future prepare estimates for housing including infrastructure facilities.
In Devendrangar Housing Colony (Uppal Circle), the Commissioner visited the Phase-III project site. The SE (Housing) explained about the ongoing project work consisting of 9 blocks with the 144 units out of which 7 blocks were grounded. The Commissioner directed the officials for early completion of the project.
The local corporator Parameshwar Reddy requested the Commissioner for allotment of available units to the beneficiaries. The Corporator also represented that the allotment of units may be made by the GHMC not by the Revenue Department since it is being delayed.
The GHMC Commissioner visited Phase-I and Phase-II completed Housing colonies and interacted with the locals. The residents of Phase–II Housing Colonies represented the Commissioner for providing individual tap connections. He told the residents that the matter would be discussed with the Managing Director, Hyderabad Metro Water Works to resolve the issue.
The Commissioner stated that there are 3700 Housing units are ready for allotment to the eligible beneficiaries. The matter will be discussed with the Collectors for early allotment. INN
