Hyderabad, Sept 21 : Announcing its month long action programme from Oct 1 to reinforce its demand to the Centre to keep the state united, YSRCP on Saturday demanded the state Congress leadership and CM Kiran Kumar Reddy to convene the assembly session immediately and adopt a resolution in favour of united AP and send it to the Centre.
Briefing media persons on the details of the YSR Congress extended meeting held at its central office here, party spokesman Ambati Rambabu said Kiran Kumar should take this step immediately before the Telangana note comes up before the Central cabinet.
“This is necessary to keep the state united,” he said, adding that the party has made out some other demands at today’s meeting. “The party has passed a resolution thanking Y S Sharmila for undertaking a successful 3112-km Padayatra across the state and Bus Yatra in the absence of party chief Y S JaganMohan Reddy,” he disclosed.
Rambabu said that the meeting has also demanded the Seemandhra Union Ministers, public representatives of both Congress and TDP to quit their posts immediately before the Telangana note comes up for Union Cabinet consideration. Apart from that, Chandrababu Naidu must state his stand clearly on the issue and should also quit immediately if he favours Samaikya Andhra,” he said and added: “He can no more continue like a cat on the wall.”
He further said that all JAC leaders who are involved in the Seemandhra agitation should also quit their positions to strengthen the stir for united AP.
Rambabu announced the action programme of the YSRCP saying that the party leaders and coordinators in all 175 constituencies will sit on relay hunger strikes on Oct 2 on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti sending a strong message to the Centre that the state must be kept united.
“On Oct 1, the Party will hold a tractor rally from Guntur to Vijayawada. On Oct 7, YSRCP activists will conduct Gandhi giri before the houses of all public representatives of Congress and TDP. Farmers’ Deeksha on Oct 10, Auto rallies on 17, Mahila Manavaharams on 21, bike rallies on 24, Sarpanchas Deeksha on 26, students and youth rallies on 29 will be conducted by the party,” he said, adding all YSRCP-controlled Panchayats will pass resolutions in favour of AP and send them to the Centre on Nov 1.
